The Delaware Valley Wing offers a cadet program which introduces teens to the CAF. The program attempts to demonstrate the many ways that members young and old can contribute in a meaningful way to the success of the wing’s mission. The program also provides contact and limited networking with others who are involved in the many facets of the aviation community. The program takes place primarily on Saturdays during the school year. Participation is limited.
While there are many youth oriented programs in America today, DVW cadet program is unique in that it uses aviation as a cornerstone. Thousands of young people from 16 years through adults are introduced to aviation through DVW's cadet program. The program allows young people to progress at their own pace through this program including aerospace education, leadership training, and moral leadership.
Whatever your interests, flight training, photography, astronomy-there's a place for you in DVW's cadet program. Each year, cadets have the opportunity to participate in special activities at the local, state, regional or national level. Many cadets will have the opportunity to fly in an airplane for the first time WITH PARENT PERMISSION.
Still others assist at major air shows and events throughout the area.
