DELAWARE VALLEY COMMEMORATIVE AIR FORCE WING

Delaware Valley's Premier Unit

DELAWARE VALLEY WING

History:

ABOUT US

The Delaware Valley Wing was formed in 1990, and the founding father was Col. Jim Lieblang.

The name, Avenger Squadron, was chosen with the idea of obtaining an Avenger, which was made in the local area in Trenton, NJ.

This proved to be too big a challenge for the financially poor unit. After working and producing a few air shows, we were able to purchase an Interstate L-6 in 1994.

After a few years, and an increase in membership to over 50 members, we decided to become a wing and change our name. Since we were never going to be able to "afford" an Avenger we changed our name to a more "generic" name thus we became the Delaware Valley Wing !

We Eventually move to Princeton, NJ, where we remain to this date and our other location 31E Eagles Nest Airport ,     West Creek , New Jersey.

The Delaware Valley Wing of the Commemorative Air Force:

The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is an all-volunteer organization, with members from all walks of life, dedicated to preserving the history of WWII aircraft for generations to come. The CAF is a non-profit 501(c)3, privately funded and totally self-supporting organization.

Our Mission:

TO HONOR AMERICAN MILITARY AVIATION THROUGH FLIGHT, EXHIBITION AND REMEMBRANCE

The CAF was founded to acquire, restore and preserve in flying condition a complete collection of combat aircraft which were flown by all military services of the United States, and selected aircraft of other nations, for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations of Americans.

More than just a collection of airworthy warplanes from the past, the CAF’s fleet of historic aircraft, known as the CAF Ghost Squadron, recreate, remind and reinforce the lessons learned from the defining moments in American military aviation history.

Would you like to be a part of this great mission?

Join the CAF with an honorary rank of colonel and help keep these magnificent aircraft flying. This is our creed and more. It’s who we are, what we do and why we do it. Help history soar!

CAF Objectives:

1. To acquire, restore and preserve in flying condition a complete collection of combat aircraft which were flown by all military services of the United States and selected aircraft of other nations, for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations of Americans.

2. To perpetuate the spirit in which such combat aircraft were flown in the defense of our nation, in the memory and hearts of all Americans.

3. To establish an organization having the dedication, enthusiasm and esprit de corps necessary to operate, maintain and preserve these aircraft as symbols of our American Military Aviation Heritage.

Membership:

You don't have to be a pilot or mechanic, nor do you have to be from a military background or an expert at anything.

If you love history, vintage aircraft, perpetuating the memory of the Greatest Generation and enjoying great camaraderie, you'll fit right in!

Past experiences make each individual a special person and, even though you may not realize it now, those experiences can make you a very useful contributor to the Wing and its continuing goals.

There are many ways to become an active member or supporter of the CAFDVW  Wing and the CAF. With all of our volunteers having different amounts of time and skills we have all levels of membership.

As a CAF Colonel, you are eligible to become a member of a CAF Unit or join an aircraft support team. You will also enjoy the privilege of flying in a CAF aircraft on a space-available basis as a qualified crew member.
